Terms of Service

The service

Set is a web-based studio for composing and rendering your work on 3D device models: you place your own images or video on the screens of those models, light and frame the scene, and render still images or video clips. Rendering happens in your browser. Set offers a free tier and two paid licences that add export capabilities.

Free tier

The free tier allows you to use the whole studio without charge: every device, light, environment, finish and timeline tool, and saving and reopening your projects as files on your own computer. Exporting a rendered image or clip requires a licence.

Licences

A Set Regular licence costs $1.99 and a Set Pro licence $9.99, each as a one-time payment. A Regular licence can be upgraded to Pro for $8.00. A licence grants you a perpetual, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to:

• Regular: export images (PNG, JPG, WebP) and clips (MP4, WebM) at up to 1920 by 1080 pixels in any orientation, at 24, 30 or 60 frames per second; and use a phone as a motion controller
• Pro: everything in Regular, and export past HD to the size your graphics hardware can render, HEVC where the hardware encodes it, 120 frames per second, transparent backgrounds, PNG frame sequences, every shot in one archive, and the finest render sampling; and connect an AI assistant to work in Set with you
• Use exported renders for personal and commercial projects
• Modify, adapt, and incorporate exported renders into your own work

Your licence is tied to your purchase email and covers one user, on any number of that user's own devices. Attribution is appreciated but not required.

What you may not do

• Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Set tool itself, or the device models and other assets that make it up
• Use automated scripts to scrape, batch-process, or abuse the service
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the source code
• Share a single licence across multiple users or devices belonging to different people
• Use the service to create competing products or services
• Circumvent any access restrictions, licence checks, or security measures

Payment and refunds

Payments are processed securely by Stripe. Licences are one-time purchases; prices are in US dollars, and taxes may be added where the law requires.

Every licence may be refunded in full within 14 days of purchase, for any reason: reply to your receipt or contact us at [email protected]. A refunded licence stops working. This refund policy applies to every buyer and is in addition to, not instead of, any statutory rights you have; nothing in these terms limits statutory rights that cannot lawfully be waived.

Support

Set does not include individual product support or guaranteed response times. For signing in, billing, or a refund within 14 days, reply to your receipt or write to [email protected]. Bug reports and feedback are welcome, but replies and fixes are not guaranteed.

If you experience a technical issue that prevents you from using the service, contact us at [email protected] and we will work to resolve it.

Your content and the device models

The images and video you place on the screens, your projects, and the renders you export are your own work and remain yours. Set applies no licence to your exports and claims no rights in them. You are responsible for having the rights to the content you use, including what an assistant you connect puts on a screen or makes for you, and for your use of that assistant under its own terms.

The device models depict Apple products so that you can show your work as it would appear on them. Set is an independent tool, not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Apple Inc. Apple, iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Apple Watch, Studio Display and Pro Display XDR are trademarks of Apple Inc., used here to name the products the models represent.

Availability and changes

We aim to keep Set available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access, or that every browser and graphics card will render every export. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time. Licence holders retain access to export functionality for the lifetime of the service; if the service is ever discontinued, we will say so with notice.

Limitation of liability

Set is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Set shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenue. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the service ($0 for free users, the licence price for licence holders).

Licence termination

Set has no user accounts; your licence is your purchase email. We reserve the right to revoke licences that violate these terms. You may request deletion of your purchase record at any time by contacting us at [email protected] (note that deletion permanently disables signing in with that licence).

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of Set after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
